Features and Advantages

Taiwan’s number one business school. Reform and innovate in business, lead and win the future.

Four characteristics that differentiate us from others:

Rich Educational Resources

Taiwan’s first business school, established in 1958, the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University (CNCCU) is home to eight departments, one graduate institute, three MBA programs and 16 research centers, all of which enjoy the consolidated resources of the College. With its professional programs and faculty, CNCCU has become the best incubation center for business and management talent. Through multifaceted innovation in teaching, research, and service, CNCCU nurtures students from various backgrounds into future leaders with international perspective, enthusiasm for innovation, professionalism, and a concern for humanity. NCCU is also the first institution in Taiwan to offer advanced management education courses such as the Executive Program, the Technology Program, and the Center for Public and Business Administration Education, cultivating high-end leadership talent for all lines of business.

World-class Accreditation

CNCCU is the first business school in Taiwan to be accredited by both the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), two world-renowned institutions that represent the American and European gold standards for business education respectively. In 2016, CNCCU received a five-year EQUIS accreditation, their highest recognition and one achieved by only 88 of more than 16,000 business schools worldwide. The fact that only nine business schools in the Greater China region have received the same level of accreditation as NCCU further demonstrates the excellence and diligence of the school.

Professional Faculty

CNCCU has the largest teaching team in Taiwan with 152 full-time instructors, most of whom hold PhD degrees from world-renowned institutions; which has received the Outstanding Research Award from National Science Council; and which plays a decisive role throughout business and industry. Equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, our faculty effectively lead students to analyze business scenarios and determine appropriate strategies, elevating corporate executives’ ability to make decisions in a fast-changing environment.

Diverse Teaching Strategies

  1. Case Studies:The learner-centered case study sessions, which include real-world case discussions and role plays, encourage students to speak freely and respond promptly to questions, while also further strengthening their analytical thinking and problem solving skills. They combine theoretical and practical knowledge, enhancing interactions among students.
  2. Overseas visits:The course grants our students access to classes from prestigious schools and opportunities to visit enterprises around the world that set the benchmarks for their industries. These corporate visits enable students to meet senior managers, learn about the investment environment and opportunities, and to network with professionals. Designated sites for such visits include the U.S., France, U.K., Italy, Japan, Germany, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and China.
  3. Experiential learning:We provide a course in leadership and team building which is one of NCCU’s highlighted courses and a compulsory subject for all EMBA freshmen.
  4. Every year, the course inspires more than 200 freshmen to re-examine their lives and past leadership experiences. It involves role plays and interactive learning to refine students’ leadership skills and help them discover the true meaning of leadership and team building.

The Four Central Competitive Pillars of NCCU’s EMBA Program

Cultivates professional and interdisciplinary leaders

In reponse to the changing market, we have broken the boundaries and integrated resources across the college to establish the Global Entrepreneur, Innovation in Cultural & Creative and ICT Industries, Global Finance, Biotechnology and Medicine, and Global EMBA sections.

In additio to the required courses, students may take courses in other sections to deepen their professional competence, increase the diversity in their education, and broaden their horizons.

Builds a thorough and solid business network

Taking 220 students per year, our EMBA program has the highest enrollment and largest alumni base in Taiwan. Currently we have over 3,000 EMBA alumni and over 30,000 CNCCU alumni. Through focused networking by the alumni association and various club activities, our alumni come together to expand our influence and create positive impacts on society.

Develops engines for innovation and entrepreneurial growth

To create a bridge between theory and practice, we designed the course Innovation in Action for students from different backgrounds to share their experience with each other, creating new momentum for entrepreneurial growth. The newly created Startup Platform also infuses innovation into enterprises by linking resources across the Greater China region and by periodically inviting professionals to give speeches and share their experience. In addition, the Crowdfunding Café, founded by the student council, gets everyone put their heads together and serves as a base for creative minds to grow their businesses by engaging in extensive ideas and resource sharing.
